Sprinkler Initial Rulings
Chris Canney stated in emails that he felt sprinklers were required
throughout the building if the apartment was added. Harold Cutler
prepared a
formal
response
to that email and we sent that response
to Chris and requested a meeting:
Chris,
Attached is a
formal
response
to your concerns about code and
sprinkler requirements, as presented in your February 26th e-mail.
There are two documents attached to this e-mail, including the
official response / memorandum prepared by our code consultant Hal
Cutler, and another pdf with
Harold
Cutler Resume and credentials.
As discussed, we would like to give you some time to review this
information, and then request a formal meeting with the project team
and Hal. Next Monday or Tuesday would work best, but if you need
more time to review, please let us know that as well.
Thanks,
Jim

Sprinkler Appeal and Ruling
Wildstar appealed the building inspectors ruling and if the ruling
were to be upheld asked for a variance. The board of appeals
accepted the inspectors ruling and granted the variance. The
variance requires a 20 minute water supply and NFPA 13D sprinklers
only in the apartment.

Fire Alarm
A business grade fire alarm system (rather than the upgrade to the
existing fire alarm system) was required by the fire official. The
alarm system sounds sirens and strobes in the riding ring which is
considered a hazard by the owners and by the PATH therapudic riding
organization.
This is the
Fire
alarm record of completion.
